Our Non-Profit VA Vigilante PaddleFit Challenge was founded to help raise money for homeless and disabled veterans in North Carolina. All proceeds from this event will go directly to agencies supporting homeless and disabled veterans in North Carolina. The VA Vigilante PaddleFit Challenge is a fun and exciting way to show your support for the local veterans in need. They served for us now it’s our turn to give back to them.
We welcome anyone to participate in this event on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 21st. To register for the event, simply click the link below and fill out the required information for entry. We will have two categories you may register for: Advanced and Recreational.
ADVANCED (ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY/VETERANS/STUDENTS): $25.00
RECREATIONAL (ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY/VETERANS/STUDENTS): $25.00
BOARD RENTAL FEE (ALL LEVELS) $10.00
Race Description: Each race will be completed in teams of two, relay style.
Recreational Race: This race is perfect for the inexperienced paddler with little to no paddle experience paddle boarding. In fact, we will have Certified PaddleFit Instructors at the event prior to the race. The race will consist of paddling one lap around the island and 6 fitness challenges on land. Exercises consist of but are not limited to; bear crawls, push-ups, sit-ups, planks, etc.
Advanced Race: This race is dedicated to the experienced fitness enthusiasts. The advanced race will include a series of fitness challenges including a weighted run, 2 laps paddling around the island and several fitness challenges per lap on the beach. This race will be tough, as you will be racing against extremely fit competitors. This year the Advanced race will be more challenging than ever. We are incorporating CrossFit exercises into the fitness portion of the event!
